Overview
During the academic year UConn Stamford campus offers funding opportunities to outstanding and qualified undergraduate students looking to host an event on the Stamford campus centered around diversity, equity, inclusion, and historically marginalized populations.
The awards range in amount and are limited based on funding availability. Whether student(s) are looking to host an event as a registered student organization (RSO) or an individual student, we are pleased to provide financial opportunities to assist with students’ programming endeavors. Please be sure to review eligibility requirements and application process.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
If requesting funds as a registered student organization, the RSO must:
- Be an active organization at the Stamford campus.
- Have a mission centered around cultural awareness, diversity, equity, inclusion, and/or historically marginalized populations in higher education.
- Demonstrate a plan to host an event focused on cultural awareness, diversity, equity, inclusion, and/or historically marginalized populations.
If requesting funds as an individual student, the student must:
- Be Black, Latiné, or a person of color.
- Be currently enrolled full-time at the Stamford campus.
- Be in good academic standing and possess a cumulative grade point average of a 2.5 or better.
- Demonstrate a plan to host an event focused on cultural awareness, diversity, equity, inclusion, and/or historically marginalized populations.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Submit Application - Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis.
- Review Committee – A committee will review applications and make a decision regarding funding within 2-3 weeks of application submission.
- Approval Decision – RSO or individual students approved for funding will work with a Student Activities Coordinator to assist with event planning and ensure that RSO or individual student adhere to University policies and guidelines.
